This color-coded slotted shim is made from high-quality PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material. It is used for mounting and leveling smaller fractional horsepower motors, various gauges and instruments, and light-duty plant machinery. The tab on each piece makes shim placement easier and safer, eliminating the need to place hands under the machinery during installation or removal of the shim. With minimal compression during use, these plastic shims are oil- and corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic, and non-conductive to electricity, making them more economical than stainless steel slotted shims. Each thickness is easily identified by color, saving time and reducing errors. The plastic slotted shim should not be used for larger, heavier motors.
