Made of crystal clear polystyrene, these FlowTubes™ are designed for Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting/flow cytometry equipment, including FACS™ systems. The diameter and wall thickness of the tube's neck are held to very tight tolerances to ensure consistent compatibility with the automated instrument. These tubes primarily collect dissociated samples for subsequent processing in automated flow cytometry instruments. The cell strainer caps are ideal for detaching, isolating, and straining cells from clusters and tissues. Typically, a 35µm porous mesh is used to obtain a single-cell suspension and prevent FACS™ instrumentation clogging. However, finer pore sizes are great for a higher level of anti-clog protection, while larger pore sizes are for pre-sorting and/or more efficient rapid flow.
