These 5mL MacroTubes® scale up the conveniences of standard 1.5mL tubes for larger volumes. The tubes are made of maximum clarity, low-binding virgin polypropylene, and come with an attached snap cap that provides a tight, leakproof seal. The cap is designed to provide a secure seal from -86°C to +80°C and can be opened (or closed) with one hand. The center of the cap has a unique thin membrane area designed for easy puncture and access by a syringe/needle. Once punctured, the opening can also help vent the internal pressure caused by incubation at moderately high temperatures. The tubes have the same diameter as standard 15mL tubes for compatibility with all Benchmark™ (USA) and standard German-designed equipment, including centrifuge rotors, dry bath block heaters, tube racks, and thermal shakers/vortexers.
