This continuous pump system eliminates the problem of flow rate drop-offs and pauses found in "Push-Pull" syringe pump systems. With "Push-Pull" systems, one syringe infuses while the other refills, then they switch directions; this switch of directions causes a delay in flow while the syringes are being primed. In this next generation continuous system, the refilling syringe pump fills the syringe faster than the infusing syringe pump infuses, giving it time to prime the syringe after it is filled or even overlapping the infusion to create a seamless transition between syringes. The smoothness of the transition between syringes can be fine-tuned by adjusting the infusion rate, refill rate, priming rate, prime volume, and overlap volume parameters. The dual system allows two pumps to communicate with each other through an included specialized synchronization cable. This creates a flexible system that can be re-configured to operate in continuous flow, emulsification, alternating dispensing, or independently at any time; the synchronization cable can also be disconnected to utilize two independent syringe pumps. The syringe pumps are fully programmable and capable of automation, operating as an individual unit with an easy-to-use keypad interface or from a computer, with up to 100 pumps that can be networked, controlled, and monitored with one computer. The pumps can infuse and withdraw with a dispensing accuracy of ±1%. A single pumping rate or dispensing volume can be set, with up to 41 pumping phases programmed to change pumping rates, set dispensing volumes, insert pauses, control and respond to external signals, and sound the buzzer. The reciprocating mode allows one pump to infuse while the other withdraws, and the dual pump mode allows for duplicate operation of the two pumps. The system includes motor stall detection, unlimited lifetime technical support, and a two-year warranty. The pumps feature a space-saving chassis and operate from the included 12VDC power supply. Each SyringeONE pump holds one syringe from micro-liter sizes up to 60mL (140mL sizes partially filled) with infusion rates from 0.73 µL/hr (1mL syringe) to 2100mL/hr (60mL syringe). The dual syringe pump system includes two SyringeONE Single-Channel Syringe Pumps with the Basic X Firmware Upgrade, a synchronization cable, and two power supplies.
