TALON™ PTFE pipe thread compound is industrial-grade and designed to prevent leaks in metal and plastic threaded connections (excluding ABS). It features a triple-lubrication formula with graphite, ceramic microspheres, and virgin PTFE for optimal sealing. This non-toxic compound will not impart taste or odor to the system, making it suitable for food and water applications. It also prevents galling, allowing for easy disassembly of pipes and bolts after years of use. Compatible with galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, PVC, CPVC, polyethylene, and reinforced fiberglass, it is especially effective on stainless steel fittings. The product is certified by NSF/ANSI 14 and 61 and meets lead-free plumbing standards set by various state laws and the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act.
