Isolate and protect gauges and other instruments from contracting the process fluids. The diaphragm separates the process media from the upper chamber, which is filled with hydraulic fluid. The force of the system pressure exerted on the diaphragm displaces the liquid in the upper chamber, which causes the gauge to read the system's pressure accurately. Gloves should be worn when handling these items due to the oils on the product.
